Silly Cats and Afternoon Work

iopenthedoor.jpg
This little kitty from Cute Overload reminded me of my cat, Darla. (I named her after one of the lil’ rascals)

I took her before she should have been weaned, nursed her by bottle, and had to keep her somewhere warm until I could come home from school. Since then, she’d follow me around and feel really upset if you went somewhere, even the bathroom without her! She would jump and open the door all by herself, but it wasn’t anything simple like the handle in that picture. It was a typical door knob, and a rusty, stuck one at that! She was so cute, but waaaaaayyy too clingy. The OPPOSITE of most cats, known for their independent nature.

I’m getting some paintings ready to list at auction today, and I’m going to go ship some orders, check my mail and whatnot. Looks like the limited edition jewelry line featuring my Babydolls will be out for THIS summer!! I am SO excited!

Also, my website is updated, so my work is organized in their rightful gallery sections! More of my newest work and other new goodies will be available really soon.

I will be offering my Babydoll series in 1 LIMITED EDITION Large giclee canvas print. It will be the original pieces in the series and ONLY 1 will be made available. After that, you can buy smaller giclee canvas prints.

  1. If it makes you feel any better, my cat was weaned to early as well and it’s made him a bit odd…at the age of two years old, he still comforts himself by sucking on the end of his tail. It’s adorable and somehow tragic at the same time.

Oh, and I also think your paintings are fantastic!

  2. Thanks! It does make me feel better. Us parents and furry parents always make worry ourselves over things like that. lol :)
